Surgeries for the Poor
In an effort to help people who are less fortunate and in need of medical treatment, many doctors strive to help people who would otherwise die or suffer from debilitating illnesses. Medical Missions, which are comprised of doctors from the Western world, travel to poor areas of the world to help needy children and families.
Dr. Saad Saad is one of these doctors. He has undergone eight missions to Jerusalem where poor children benefited from his willingness to assist. Saad Saad’s willingness to help the poor stems from his own childhood experiences in Kuwait.
A Look Into the Mind of a Doctor
IdeaMensch, an online interview platform, recently contacted Dr. Saad Saad to be featured in an interview on their site. The interview revealed the details of the doctor’s childhood and his medical aspirations as a child. He also shared some of his more personal insights and relationships in his life. One key point that IdeaMensch showed during the interview was the mind of a successful, yet relatable man.
Born in Palestine, Saad Saad came from a poor family. He spent most of his childhood in Kuwait where he attended high school. Although he initially wanted to become an engineer like his brothers, he eventually aspired to become a doctor after noticing that he wanted an occupation where he could stay indoors with air conditioning. Saad Saad would then begin his journey to become a medical surgeon.
Saad Saad also spoke about his mentor, Dr. H. Biemann Othersen, who taught him how to be a pediatric surgeon. Dr. Othersen taught Saad Saad the value of many character traits such as hard work and kindness.
Saad Saad also answered various questions about his organization habits, his thoughts about God, his failures, and other life details. When asked what he would put on a billboard shown to the world, he gave his inspiring words about hard work and perseverance.
